Rob Bodner, president of EFR Inc., has had plenty of experience, and success, opening vended laundries in areas others might avoid. As a contributing columnist, Bodner shares his knowledge with visitors to American Coin-Op magazine's Web site. His article also appeared in the March issue American Coin-Op.

In his column, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side?" Bodner discusses how investors can have success in rougher sections of cities. He encourages owners to avoid judging a neighborhood solely on rundown buildings and the presence of graffiti.

"...speaking from experience, having developed stores in areas of New York and New Jersey many would have never considered, you can have success. With the right approach, your store can not only become a profitable business, but a source of pride for the neighborhood," he writes.
